By Colliers Engineering & Design

TWP_AUG15_Cover for web - finalMunicipal Separate Storm Sewer System, or MS4 for short, is a wake-up call to all Pennsylvania municipalities that need to meet current MS4 system requirements. Maser Consulting’s Ronald Madison, PE and Suzanne Zitzman, GISP have experience working with some of these townships to help get them on the path to successfully meeting these EPA-mandated obligations. The following is an excerpt from an article that just appeared in the August 2015 issue of the Pa. Township News and is reprinted with the permission of the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors. The full story will give you a birds-eye-view of what you can expect.

MS4 TOWNSHIPS: NOW’S THE TIME TO CHECK COMPLIANCE WITH STORMWATER REQUIREMENTS

“For the more than 370 Pennsylvania townships mandated to be part of the MS4 program, compliance means a lot more than knowing where their stormwater goes. That’s become increasingly clear as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has stepped up inspections and levied fines for non-compliance. Now’s the time to ask how your township will fare when inspectors come calling.” Click HERE to view the entire article. From understanding your responsibilities to developing a stormwater master plan including the implementation of a GIS tracking system, Ron and Sue are available to help guide you through this legislation.
