Recently, the Firm provided integrated engineering services for the cities of Hoboken and Camden; both projects offer the resident families, youth, and surrounding neighborhoods a place for activity, amusement, and economic growth.

Hoboken Yard Redevelopment

Maser Consulting is providing comprehensive services for the redeveloper, LCOR, to complete the Hoboken Yard Redevelopment project. The project is an initiative to transform the southern edge of Hoboken into a compelling destination. The area serves as a vital transportation point for daily commuters utilizing NJTRANSIT, PATH, and the ferry crossing the Hudson. However, as ridership increased over the years and maintenance has not kept pace, the City experienced operational challenges in addition to public spaces falling into disrepair.

The redevelopment plan is an ambitious face-lift for the southern gateway to Hoboken. The plan includes 2.3 million square feet of office, residential, retail, and public spaces. Additionally, it will convert the Observer Highway into a scenic boulevard to improve the overall operations: circulations, walkability, and cycling opportunities. It also includes significant improvements to NJTRANSIT’s bus operations and rehabilitation of key NJTRANSIT assets, such as the Ferry Terminal Building and Warrington Plaza.

Upon completion, Hoboken Yards will attract people, jobs, and economic opportunities. The project will enhance key connections between New York, the Hudson waterfront, and other urban centers in New Jersey.

Camden Landfill Redevelopment

The City of Camden, NJ is receiving a $25-million allocation from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) to renovate a 62-acre site formerly used as the city’s municipal dump. Maser Consulting provided various surveying services to jumpstart the transformation of Harrison Avenue landfill into a beautiful waterfront park within the next two years.

As the dump has been utilized since the 1950’s, redeveloping the site into usable, green space is preserving young residents’ futures and health.

The overall goal of the project is to enhance the quality of life for children and families in the surrounding neighborhoods. The conceptual plan includes one mile of shoreline running along the Delaware and Cooper rivers, freshwater tidal wetlands, a fish pond, and recreation trails.

When completed, the residents of the neighborhood will have access to the waterfront, where the Philadelphia skyline will be visible for the first time in 70 years.
