Provided comprehensive design services for a recreational space project at Rise Academy, a TEAM charter school in Newark. The project involved the construction of a new athletic field for the Academy, which is a middle school serving 400 students located at 21 Ashland Street. The project required a very cost-effective design approach, in order to stay within a limited budget. All decisions and the general approach to work had to be low-cost, with consideration for ease of construction, availability of materials, and creative design and renovation solutions.

Our professionals provided civil/site design, landscape architecture, and construction administration for construction of this full-size synthetic turf athletic field on land adjacent to the school. The athletic field accommodates a regulation youth-sized soccer field with sufficient room for spectators. Rise Academy remained open during the construction of the field, and served as a resource for students matriculating in the neighboring campus. As such, the programmatic functions and spatial connections between this parcel and the school site had to be maintained during the design and redevelopment of the entire project site.
