Maritime Park is the final link in Hoboken’s continuous public waterfront, transforming a former industrial site into a vibrant, world-class community space. Designed to celebrate the city’s maritime heritage while prioritizing environmental resilience, the park will feature maritime piers, a waterfront walkway, skate park, flexible lawn areas, and restored wetlands with a living shoreline. The design blends active and passive recreation with ecological intent, incorporating native tidal marshes, restored marine habitats, bioswales, rain gardens, and a maritime forest. A robust tree canopy will provide shade and mitigate urban heat island effects, enhancing long-term climate resilience.
