Colliers Engineering & Design (CED) provided value engineering services for La Foresta and Mercado from Via Centenario, a limited access facility connecting Panama City to the West over the Panama Canal. The work included studying several access interchange alternatives and developing conceptual roadway/drainage and bridge plans for the preferred alternative. The study saved approximately $1.1M on an estimated $11M design-build contract awarded by Panama’s Ministerio de Obras Publica (Public Works Department). Additionally, CED has was also contracted by the general contractor to provide final roadway and bridge design services, including contract plans for the selected alternative.
