Colliers Engineering & Design, a national multi-discipline engineering and architecture, design and consulting firm, is pleased to announce that it has hired Jessica Ross, PE, as the Highways & Traffic Engineering Department Manager in the firm’s Buffalo, NY office.

Ms. Ross has more than 14 years of experience, including design, management and construction administration of both transportation and traffic design. Her expertise lies in complete streets design, involving optimized, ADA compliant pedestrian facilities; bicycle accommodations ranging from pavement markings to protected facilities; coordination with mass transit; and implementation of standard design elements for vehicular traffic. Her projects also include highway condition analysis, rehabilitation, and reconstruction, ranging from mill and inlay treatments to full depth repair; multi-use trail design; LED street lighting upgrades; green infrastructure; utility coordination; and work zone traffic control.

Her recent project experience includes the rehabilitation and reconfiguration of 3.3 miles of Niagara Street in the City of Buffalo, dubbed the “gold standard” of complete streets by Congressman Brian Higgins. Ms. Ross led design and was deputy project manager during the construction of the $25+ million locally administered federal aid project which included the city’s first cycle track; 17 complete signal replacements with transit signal prioritization and upgrades to complete ADA compliance; and work zone traffic control which allowed traffic to be maintained on site throughout construction.

In recognition of her technical and organizational talents, Ms. Ross was named a finalist for the American Council of Engineering Companies of New York 2023 Young Professional of the Year, and received that award nationally in October 2023.
