At the request of the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) and the New York City Department of Parks (NYC Parks), Colliers Engineering & Design performed a structural assessment of the waterfront perimeter of Fort Totten Park. Fort Totten is a preserved Civil War fortress surrounded by several historic buildings located on a peninsula. The peninsula is protected by a stone seawall and stone revetment. The fort itself actually protrudes out into the bay waters. The scope of the investigation included structural assessment and computational analysis of the facility components, recommendation of structural repairs, and construction cost estimating.
