This Project Development and Environmental (PD&E) Study project studied the improvements of traffic operations and addition of capacity along SR 869/Sawgrass Expressway south of US 441 to Powerline Road. Alternatives were considered to increase capacity and eliminate various existing operational and safety deficiencies, while also providing improved connectivity of the regional transportation network such as creating a limited access facility within the study limits that provide connectivity between the adjacent limited access facilities and also maintains a road for local traffic and vehicles not wishing to enter a limited access facility.

Our work under a subconsultant agreement included providing the support of excavation (SOE) for one of the proposed alternatives consisting of a 5,000 ft. long depressed section. Colliers Engineering & Design additionally designed anchored and cantilever sheet pile walls for the earth retaining system.
