Our firm provided comprehensive engineering and construction management services for a signature master-planned residential community in the east valley of the Phoenix metropolitan area, Arizona. This ambitious project encompasses 2,700 acres initially, with plans to expand to 8,500 acres, more than doubling the size of Apache Junction. The development will feature 10,000 new single-family homes, schools, regional parks, public facilities, and commercial spaces.
To bring this project to life, we established a flexible framework through rezoning and entitlement to accommodate varied development timelines. This process involved extensive collaboration with multiple agencies, including Apache Junction, AJWD, SMCFD, MCDOT, FCDMC, the City of Mesa, and Pinal County. We partnered with the city to annex the project into Apache Junction and formed a new Community Facilities District (CFD) to fund the $100 million initial infrastructure investment.
Our infrastructure development efforts included designing a new water campus with a 3.2 MGD tank and associated pump station, as well as engineering over five miles of large-diameter water mains. Throughout the project, our firm led the design efforts and ultimately provided construction administration and inspection services for this significant expansion of Apache Junction.
