SUNY Geneseo: Seneca Residence Hall

Our professionals provided full architectural and engineering design services for the new 84-bed residence hall.
This project, which won the 2011 AIA Rochester Chapter Design Award, consisted of a limestone clad stair tower that anchors the building at the southeast corner, visually terminating the approach into the north village quad. The four-story building has ten double-dwelling units on each floor with a shared bathroom for each. A single residence assistant unit is located on each floor, as well as a lounge space, trash room, laundry facility and restrooms/showers. A curving glass and metal transparent form to the south serves as the entrance lobby, showcasing the open study lounges.
Geothermal heating was added using loop field and geothermal heat pumps, making the Seneca Resident Hall Energy Star certified.
