Phillipsburg High School Roadway Improvements

Lopatcong Township, Warren County, NJ

NJSME 2016 Project of the Year Award for Intergovernmental Cooperation

Since the Phillipsburg High School no longer had the capacity to house its more than 1,700 high school students from both Hunterdon and Warren Counties, it was determined that a new school should be constructed in Lopatcong Township. To support this initiative, the existing roadways leading to the school were renovated to accommodate the traffic ingress and egress of this large student population, the majority of whom are bussed to school. To make this project successful, several unique agreements had to be reached between multiple agencies.

Our services for this project included the preparation of plans, technical specifications, bid documents, permit applications, and cost estimates for improvements to Upper Belvidere Road (County Route 646) at the approaches to the entrance road for the new Phillipsburg High School, including utility relocations and a new traffic signal. Our professionals also provided construction observation and administration services during the construction of the roadway improvements.
