MIC-MIA Mover
Miami, FLColliers Engineering & Design was proud to provide Construction Quality Control to this project which connects the Miami International Airport (MIA) with the Miami Intermodal Center (MIC) and the Rental Car Facility (RCF). The project consisted of the design, construction, operation and maintenance of an elevated automated people mover system totaling 1.25 miles, between MIA and the MIC. This project is also referred to as an extension of the “Orange Line” that connects the Earlington Heights metro station to the MIC.
This project reduces current automobile traffic in and out of MIA by a projected 30%, assisting with the elimination of the bussing operations, airport terminal traffic congestion, and the reduction of gas emissions.
