Our firm led Curtis Park’s comprehensive redesign and renovation, focusing on accessibility and community enhancement. We were responsible for the design and development of construction documents for a range of improvements. The project included creating a fully ADA-compliant playground area, installing new concrete and paver walkways, upgrading the lighting systems, and regrading the site to improve accessibility.

To fund this barrier-free playground initiative, we successfully secured and leveraged multiple grants on behalf of the township, including an NJDCA Local Recreation Improvement grant in January 2022 and two separate awards from the Monmouth County Municipal Open Space Grant program in 2021 and 2020.

Our firm’s involvement extended beyond design, encompassing a wide array of services, including surveying, soil erosion planning, stormwater management planning, and landscaping design. In recognition of the inclusive layout, Curtis Park was designated as a Nation Demonstration Site (NDS) for Inclusive Play by Playcore.
