Poultry Testing Labs

Fremont, NE

Laboratory

When a food company’s growth outpaces its ability to test what it produces, the answer is not more outsourcing. It is building the capability in-house. CWI partnered with Midwest Laboratories to design and build the first ground-up, large-scale microbiology poultry testing lab of its kind, a 23,000-square-foot facility in Fremont, Nebraska that gives the company direct control over flock nutrition monitoring and health testing at a scale that matches its operations.
Strict Requirements, No Compromise
The lab was built around a set of non-negotiable priorities. Cross-contamination between testing areas had to be eliminated through carefully designed circulation, material separations, and environmental controls. High visibility throughout the lab was required to support client and regulatory tours without creating security vulnerabilities. And the facility had to operate around the clock, 24/7, without interruption.
Under One Roof
An integrated office area for the CWI team keeps operations and administration under one roof, and the facility’s layout was designed with future expansion in mind. For a company growing as fast as CWI, this lab is not just a testing facility. It is infrastructure that supports the next phase of the business.
