Mustafa Dolan, RPLS | Project Manager, Survey & Geospatial Services
In 2010, after settling in Texas, Mustafa discovered his real passion: surveying. He came to it with a strong foundation — five years as a licensed engineer back home, followed by a master’s degree in environmental and civil engineering from the Polytechnic University of Milan, often called the MIT of Italy. Ready to build something new, he started exactly where careers begin, in the field.
“I started from the bottom,” he says simply.
From there, he moved through instrument operator, party chief, draftsman, technician, and project surveyor before earning his Texas RPLS license in 2024. That ground-up path is exactly what shapes how he leads today. He’s worked on the field conditions his crew faces and reads the engineering plans his client’s hand over, so he can anticipate problems most people only catch after the fact.
“I don’t need the back-and-forth,” he says. “I know what the engineer needs before they have to ask.”
With two decades of experience, Mustafa has performed residential and commercial development surveys, pipeline and utility surveying, constructions stake-outs, highway and roadway improvements constructions projects, wind and solar farms surveys; work that spans nearly every kind of project Texas infrastructure depends on. But ask him what keeps him coming back to the field, and it’s not the variety. It’s the puzzle!
“Land surveying, especially boundary surveying, is like being a detective,” he says. “We find the evidence and the proof. Every project is different, and you never stop learning.” It’s that instinct, to keep digging until the evidence holds up, that Mustafa brings to every project he leads through on our Texas team.
