Walt Whitman Bridge Toll Plaza & Paving Rehabilitation

Currently providing construction monitoring services to the Delaware River Port Authority for toll plaza, substructure, and paving rehabilitation on the Walt Whitman Bridge (Contract No. WW-23-2015). The scope of work includes replacement of the existing concrete toll lanes; concrete crack and spall repair to the toll plaza and the approach piers; replacement of bituminous pavements; lane striping; concrete forming and placing; attenuator systems; coordination of maintenance and protection of traffic; and coordination with City of Philadelphia, PennDOT, and NJDOT for required permits and lane closures. The project also involves repairs to toll collector stairwells and tunnel and the simultaneous replacement and upgrade of the E-Z Pass toll collection equipment.

Our services include inspection of all work to ensure compliance with the plans and specifications; inspection of all construction materials to be used at the site to ensure compliance with the plans and specifications; reviewing as-builts completed by the contractor; schedule and cost control; inspection reporting and document control; field engineering; reviewing contractor-proposed substitutions and changes; shop drawing review; contract document interpretation and issue resolution; change order and invoices review and recommendations; review and processing of requests for information; determination of substantial and final completion; assistance with contractor claims resolutions; project closure activities; and conducting project meetings.
