Shoreline Trail Connectivity Study

Niagara Falls, NY

The Lower Niagara Shoreline Trail Connectivity Study builds upon the efforts of the Niagara River Greenway to provide access to the world-renowned scenic, natural, historic, cultural and recreational resources of the Niagara River Corridor. Colliers Engineering & Design, in collaboration with New York State Parks and the Niagara River Greenway, is conducting a study to identify and evaluate opportunities for safe and enjoyable multi-modal connections from Artpark in the Village of Lewiston to Four Mile Creek State Park along the Lake Ontario Shoreline, filling a gap in the regional trail system.

The study will not only explore trail alternatives, but opportunities for key gateways and activity nodes, incorporation of placemaking elements and amenities, and creating connections promoting access to key destinations and conservation areas. Tools including experiential engagement and pop up workshops will be utilized to create project excitement, obtain feedback and educate the community on the benefits of multi-use trails.
