This City of San Antonio Bond project called for the extensions of W. Military and Ingram Rd to intersect on an unimproved 97- acre tract near the National Security Administration building on Potranco Road. To reduce traffic congestion on Richland Hills Drive, the City of San Antonio collaborated with the developer of the tract to construct the extensions.

To achieve both the City and developer’s goals, Colliers Engineering & Design (CED) designed arterials for a Transit Oriented Development, focusing on pedestrian traffic. CED designed the geometry of the roadway to provide visual cues (horizontal bends, building placement, trees, etc.), making slower travel speeds comfortable for drivers and pedestrians alike. The design also included bike lanes, 15ft. sidewalks, on-street parking, and utility relocations/extensions.

The CED team coordinated extensively with utility purveyors for water, sewer, gas, duct banks, and telecommunications. Additionally, CED provided design and construction phase services for this project.
