Provided structural engineering services, as well as construction administration and inspection, for the construction of two 140 ft vehicular bridge spans, crossing Overpeck Lake in Overpeck Park. At the time, the newly renovated park had only one viable entrance and exit, and these new bridges provided both vehicles and pedestrians with an alternate access route.
The two subject bridges consist of timber arch suspension type structures, supported on cast-in-place concrete abutments, wingwalls, and pile caps founded on concrete-filled steel pipe piles. The abutments and wingwalls were finished with a natural stone facing. The two main bridge spans are separated with a 50 ft long reinforced concrete span.
