Morgan’s Wonderland and Toyota Field – both previous Colliers Engineering & Design (CED) projects – have a new neighbor that revolutionizes healthcare for individuals with special needs. The award-winning Multi-Assistance Center, or MAC for short, is the newest staple in Morgan’s Inclusion Initiative founded by Gordon Hartman, a leader in inclusion efforts in San Antonio. The core framework of the MAC includes community support services, therapy services, and a medical home – the widest array of care for individuals with special needs and disabilities in one location in the United States.
CED is pleased to have provided our civil engineering services, including surveys, schematic design, and grading and storm drain plans, to the MAC. The building is 90,000 SF, is sensory-friendly, includes legal services and mental health care, and partners with leaders in the community such as the San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind & Vision Impaired, Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, and more. UTSA, SAHA, and VIA Transit are coming together to develop the centralization of these services. CED is proud to contribute to work that brings empowerment, inclusion, education, and innovation to our special needs community in Bexar County.
This development won the Associated Builders and Contractor’s 2022 Excellence in Construction Award. The award honors top construction projects completed by South Texas’ general, craft trade, and specialty contractors.
