Montville Township retained Colliers Engineering & Design as an independent engineer to review JCP&L’s proposed 230 kV transmission line project. After evaluating the project and meeting with the Township’s leadership and residents, Colliers Engineering & Design identified five areas on which to negotiate with JCP&L, including rerouting the proposed line to be less intrusive on several condominium complexes, as well as constructing the transmission line as an under-build on the new monopoles to reduce the overall project impact. We were able to successfully negotiate concessions on all five areas with JCP&L, thus reducing the impact to the Township.
