Evergreen Theragnostics Radiopharmaceutical Manufacturing Facility

Design and construction of a state of the art radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facility.

Our professionals, in collaboration with Hodess Cleanroom Construction, designed the first manufacturing facility for Evergreen Theragnostics, a contract manufacturer serving the radiopharmaceutical segment of the pharmaceutical industry, located in Springfield, New Jersey.

The 14,000 square foot facility was designed from the ground up to meet cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) regulations for radiopharmaceutical manufacturing, including therapeutic and diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals. Services include planning, design, and engineering that included disciplines such as architectural, interiors, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical, and lighting. The team leveraged years of experience in specialized lab planning and design to provide a built infrastructure that delivered on owner goals, which included supporting high production capacity with room for future growth, enabling efficient workflow suitable for the highest standards of cGMP and delivering an aesthetically pleasing building that employees would enjoy.

The project included careful design considerations around site planning and space utilization, energy redundancy for business continuity and mechanical system design to address appropriate exhaust airstreams. Much of the team’s design work, as well as construction, occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic, requiring virtual collaboration between the designer, contractor (Hodess), owner (Evergreen) and equipment manufacturers located in Europe. The team leveraged 3D design technology to provide owners with a virtual walk-through of the space.

The project broke ground in September 2020 and was completed on schedule one year later.
