Colliers Engineering & Design is currently managing the five-year Districtwide Bridge Repair and Rehabilitation Program contract to conduct the design, preparation of contract documents, and other engineering services for improvements to transportation facilities assigned on a task work order (TWO) basis. Contract documents include plans, specifications, supporting engineering analysis, calculations and other technical documents as specified.
Some of the more notable projects under this contract include the rehabilitation of the following bridges: SR 5/US-1 over Cow Key Channel Bridges (900086 & 900125) with innovative first-time uses in the State of Florida for both using the Florida Slab Beam (FSB) system in a State Road, and for using Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) rebar and Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) strands in the FSB system; SR 994/Quail Roost Drive over Canal C-102 Bridge (870628), which uses Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC); and the SR 112/I-195 over Westshore Waterway Bridge (870314) that uses GFRP rebar for bulkhead repairs and pile jackets.
