Arsenal Interlocking is a vital interchange for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority’s (SEPTA) regional rail system. The interlocking serves three major routes that run south from the city, serving large suburban residential areas and the Philadelphia International Airport.

Providing survey services for a project in this highly active rail corridor can be quite challenging. Colliers Engineering & Design was able to expedite these services for SEPTA by deploying mobile LiDAR using a hi-rail vehicle. After control was established, our professionals were able to gather full 3D, survey-grade data across the project limits in one overnight session, thereby saving HNTB and SEPTA time on the schedule, while also saving costs.
