Airside Operation Access (AOA) Gates Upgrade

Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, TX

Colliers Engineering & Design performed SUE excavation operations to locate and designate existing utilities for the upgrade and replacement of (17) AOA gates at the DFW Airport. The FAA determined that the existing gates did not meet current standards and was tasked with upgrading the system.

The initial access was comprised of a one-gate system. The new system being installed was a two-gate mechanism. This highly secured space was designed as a redundant system to keep out any unauthorized vehicles and constructed to accommodate all authorized vehicles cleared for entry to the AOA. We were tasked with locating all of the original electrical and control wiring so it could be tied-into the new system.
