2019 Excellence in Concrete Construction Award High-Rise Building
Provided geotechnical engineering, construction quality assurance (CQA), and special inspections services for the below-grade construction elements of this 26-story high-rise residential structure, which included two levels of below-grade parking. Our geotechnical services included the completion of a detailed geotechnical investigation for the proposed development consisting of test borings, rock cores, groundwater management, and underpinning of adjacent structures. Recommendations included drilled shafts socketed into the intact rock layer and auger pressure-grouted piles and pile caps.
The special inspections services included general earthwork and bulk excavation; installation of deep foundation systems (APG piles) including material testing for grout and concrete placement; waterproofing systems; and cast-in-place concrete for pile caps, foundations, basement walls, grade beams, and slabs-on-grade.
