Improving Employee Wellness at Colliers Engineering & Design

By Colliers Engineering & Design

At Colliers Engineering & Design, we know our employees are our greatest asset. Over the years, our HR team has constantly been improving the benefits we offer. Due to these efforts by our HR Department and Employee Resource Groups, Colliers Engineering & Design has received Cigna’s Gold Level Healthy Workforce Designation in both 2023 and 2024.

To earn this designation, Colliers Engineering & Design was evaluated based on the wellness programs offered both inside and outside of the insurance provided, health engagement programs, and health-related policies and events the firm holds.

Gina Nagy, Director of HR Operations, and Theresa Haderer, Senior Manager of Employee Benefits, were both intimately involved in earning and maintaining the Gold Designation for the firm. The Benefits team worked on the survey provided by the company’s Cigna representative on questions relating to the health, vision and dental plans offered to employees, but also included Financial Wellness, Emotional Wellness, Tuition Reimbursement, our Employee Assistance Program and other benefits.

“Our Executive Team has been extremely supportive in our wellness endeavors and initiatives which contribute heavily to getting and keeping this designation,” explained Theresa. “Working with Cigna, we are able to see the areas we need further support in to maintain the designation, but more importantly to understand how we can improve on the level of service and programs provided to keep our employees healthy and well.”

What Makes Colliers Engineering & Design Stand Out

After learning more about what services we offered employees, our Benefits team was solicited to submit their information. On first completion in 2022, the Bronze Level Healthy Workforce Designation was achieved, but our commitment to employee wellness goes beyond an award. Noting areas where we could add to or strengthen existing programs, in 2023 we jumped two tiers and achieved the Gold Level. The work didn’t stop there.

Each year, we evaluate our total compensation to employees and strive to make improvements. Just this year, we added a second floating holiday for all full-time employees to utilize throughout the year. We also recently added Candidly to our retirement planning, providing additional 401K contributions based on student loan

payments. Most importantly, we rolled out an enhanced Employee Assistance Program (EAP), ComPsych, to support the overall health and well-being of our employees.

All employees have access to several Employee Resource Groups, including the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Team, Employee Experience Committee, Green Team, Wellness Committee, Working Parents & Caregivers Group and the Women’s Organization.

As a result of the Group’s continued efforts, Colliers Engineering & Design is set to receive the 2024 Gold Level Healthy Workforce Designation from Cigna in May 2025 for the second year in a row. To learn more about the benefits of Colliers Engineering & Design, visit our Careers Page.
