Colliers Engineering & Design, a national multi-discipline engineering and architecture, design and consulting firm, is pleased to announce that it has hired Tom Rock as National Director of Subsurface Utility Engineering services.

Mr. Rock has been involved with SUE services as related to Department of Transportation work throughout the southeast since its inception and acceptance of ASCE standards. He played a pivotal role in helping to develop the SUE process into the recognized engineering profession it is today.

“Tom has extraordinary leadership skills, knowledge and experience with subsurface utilities,” explained Mark DeLor, PLS, Division Director/Survey for Colliers Engineering & Design. “His longevity within the industry and finely honed skills in overseeing all our SUE service locations will truly be an asset to us on a nationwide level.”

Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Rock has been responsible for the management of On-Call SUE contracts for: SCDOT, NCDOT, GDOT, VDOT, Fairfax Co., TxDOT, IDOT, ODOT, PennDOT and ALDOT. He is a member of the Utility Engineering and Survey Institute (UESI), North and South Carolina ASHE, North and South Carolina and Georgia ACEC organizations.
