Deep in the Heart of Texas: Colliers Engineering & Design Brings Projects to Life

By Colliers Engineering & Design

“We have built the right team here because we do things the right way.”

It’s simple. The success of project development depends on the competence of professionals employed and cohesion of services rendered. The demands of the built environment and needs of the client deserve no less. To engage a firm that offers all of the services and professional expertise from a single source—is a clear advantage. That firm is Colliers Engineering & Design.

Who is Colliers Engineering & Design?

We’re not an unfamiliar face in Texas. You may know the Colliers name as a global real estate management firm and you’re not wrong. Colliers is the parent organization for Colliers Engineering & Design, the company’s first engineering offshoot that has been given added resources to promote and develop its services throughout the country where they are needed most.

“We bring an entire network of key clients and services to help Texas meet the growing needs of their population,” said Kevin L. Haney, PE, President and CEO of Colliers Engineering & Design. “And, we’re adding decades of experience to provide the Texas market with new resources from a single source.”

An established east coast firm, Colliers Engineering & Design migrated west into Tennessee, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and now Texas. The firm’s main markets in Texas include municipal, commercial buildings, mixed-use, multi-family, industrial and warehousing, and the development and redevelopment of master-planned communities through its regional offices in Houston, Addison, Southlake, Austin, Bryan, and Aransas Pass.

Most recently, Colliers Engineering & Design expanded its services by acquiring San Antonio-based KFW Engineers + Surveying. KFW, which has a long-established presence and reputation in Texas, has been rebranded as Colliers Engineering & Design. Including their offices in San Antonio and New Braunfels, it brings the company total to eight service locations statewide.

Wide Range of Services

“Our multi-discipline experience enhances our sensitivity to project needs that address economic market changes,” explained Armando J. Niebla, PE, Regional Discipline Leader for Civil Site services for Colliers Engineering & Design. “This is a tremendous advantage that has afforded us a unique approach to each project and its potential development challenges enabling us to maximize benefits in our municipalities.”

Advantages

The professionals at Colliers Engineering & Design partner with clients to employ a strategic approach to tackle any challenge throughout the course of a project. Its full-service portfolio is accessible from the same source offering clients streamlined communications that expedite response rates and workflow. This multidiscipline advantage increases communication and reduces clients’ need to outsource services saving them time and money by keeping their projects on time and budget.

“We are fortunate enough to have this balance of experience as it helps us pivot our focus in allocating the right resources,” said Niebla. “Hands-on service availability enables us to connect all of our divisions in-house with our clients’ needs while encompassing the big picture of a project. This added horsepower, allows us to manage projects like this all over Texas.”

Further, Colliers Engineering & Design has experienced engineers, architects and planners who have the required Texas state licensure, allowing them to streamline every service needed to create customized designs for both public and private sector clients. This includes professionals with hard-to-find, specialized licensure, who can service projects that are unique to Texas, including natural and cultural resources, ecologic, hydrographic and bathymetric, and geo-environmental.

Ready to Serve Texas

“It’s taken us a long time and a huge effort to strategically assemble the professionals on our team and services we carry forward as we’ve expanded into Texas,” President/CEO Haney said. “The main thing to know is that we have built the right team here because we do things the right way and the markets we’re focusing on—are ones that need us most.”

They also have the resources to help jumpstart projects through grants and funding administration and facilitate regulatory and permitting services.

Colliers Engineering & Design is comprised of over 2,600 professionals nationwide from all engineering and design disciplines. Its people are at the core of their success.

“We provide top-notch customer services alongside our geographic footprint,” said Niebla. “We are large, but still have the small company culture with local licensed professionals who bring extreme local knowledge to any project, large or small anywhere in Texas.”
