Colliers Engineering & Design Achieves WELL Health-Safety Rating Across 55 Offices
Colliers Engineering & Design is proud to announce that 55 of our offices have achieved the WELL Health-Safety Rating from the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI). This accomplishment highlights our unwavering commitment to creating environments that prioritize the well-being of our employees, clients, and communities.
“Achieving the WELL Health-Safety Rating underscores our dedication to creating environments that prioritize the health and safety of everyone who enters our spaces,” explained Leonardo E. Ponzio, P.L.S., Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer. “This milestone reflects not only our dedication to operational excellence but also our broader vision to elevate the built environment in ways that promote well-being, sustainability, and innovation. We are proud to lead by example and deliver spaces that meet the evolving needs of our clients and communities.”
Understanding the WELL Health-Safety Rating
The WELL Health-Safety Rating is a globally recognized, evidence-based certification that evaluates operational policies, maintenance protocols, and emergency planning. Designed to address the challenges of a post-COVID-19 environment, the rating emphasizes actionable strategies to create safer, healthier spaces for all. It differs from WELL Certification™, which focuses on design and construction elements, by prioritizing operational enhancements that impact daily activities
Our Path to Achievement
Achieving the WELL Health-Safety Rating required a comprehensive approach aligned with our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy, “Elevate the Built Environment.” Key initiatives included:
- Enhanced Cleaning Protocols: Updating service contracts to incorporate advanced sanitization measures.
- Air and Water Quality Management: Implementing regular monitoring and maintenance to ensure optimal environmental quality.
- Emergency Preparedness: Developing comprehensive plans to effectively respond to health emergencies.
Julie Ann Zamarra, Workplace Services Coordinator, played a pivotal role in this achievement, leading the submission process and coordinating efforts across departments to meet IWBI standards.
