Colliers Engineering & Design (CED) provided the bridge widening design and contract documents for the design build auxiliary lane on SR 836. The project consisted of widening the NW 57th Avenue and Tamiami Canal bridges for an additional eastbound lane. The project includes MSE and conventional retaining walls, and four new overhead span and one new cantilever sign structures. The bridge widenings are supported with AASHTO girder beams composite with an 8-inch deck supported on 18-inch pile bents. CED was also responsible for the LRFD design of the widening of two (2) bridges in support of the eastbound auxiliary lane.
