At Hawes Crossing in southeast Mesa, IDM Companies developed approximately 20 acres near Elliot Road and Sossaman Road into a modern apartment home community featuring 16 residential buildings with 372 units, a clubhouse and leasing office, fitness center, two resort-style swimming pools, a dog park, and a nine-hole putting green. It’s the kind of development where the amenities set it apart, but the infrastructure underneath is what makes it all work.

Our involvement started early with boundary and ALTA surveying, then expanded into due diligence, rezoning support, and schematic design as we worked closely with the City and project team to move the development through approvals. By the time the vision was fully defined, our scope had grown to encompass the full civil engineering package.

Everything Below the Surface That Makes It Livable

Our team prepared preliminary grading and drainage plans along with a comprehensive utility plan, drainage report, water and sewer reports, and final construction documents covering grading, drainage, onsite paving, stormwater pollution prevention, and final utility layouts. Each document was coordinated to align with the broader Hawes Crossing master-planned community, ensuring the apartment development integrates seamlessly with the infrastructure and design standards already in place.

IDM Companies brought our team in at the survey phase and kept us through final construction documents, a progression that allowed every engineering decision to build on the one before it. The result is a community that fits naturally within the larger Hawes Crossing vision while standing on its own as one of southeast Mesa’s most complete residential offerings.
