EV & Emerging Technology
How our engineers help clients build the infrastructure behind the next generation of energy and transportation
The way communities power transportation is changing, and the infrastructure required to support that shift is more complex than most people realize. Electric vehicle adoption is accelerating across residential, fleet, and commercial markets, driven by consumer demand, manufacturer commitments, and federal and state funding programs. Behind every charging station that comes online is a project that required site selection, electrical design, civil engineering, permitting, utility coordination, and often environmental and geotechnical work, all delivered on timelines the industry has little patience to extend.
Our EV and emerging technologies team provides single-source engineering consulting for clients building this new infrastructure. We bring civil, structural, electrical, environmental, and geotechnical expertise together under one roof, with licensing in 48 states, to deliver projects that meet regulatory standards and aggressive deployment schedules. Whether the project is a single charging installation, a vehicle manufacturer-mandated rollout across multiple states, or a federally funded program at a major retail center, we apply the same approach: get involved early, identify risks before they become delays, and keep every phase of the project moving.

Our approach
EV infrastructure projects move fast, but they still have to be engineered right. Zoning boards, building departments, utility companies, and environmental regulators all have a say in how and where charging stations get built. Our team understands those approval pathways and builds them into the project timeline from day one. We start with desktop feasibility analysis and concept design to help clients make informed decisions early, then carry the work forward through civil and site design, electrical engineering, permitting, and construction engineering and inspection.
The advantage of working with our team is the range of in-house capability behind every engagement. Surveying, geotechnical investigation, environmental assessment, energy consulting, and project management all sit alongside our core engineering services. That means fewer vendors, tighter coordination, and a faster path from concept to construction, which matters in a market where timing can determine whether a project captures available funding or meets a regulatory deadline.

From feasibility to fully operational charging infrastructure
EV charging deployment spans a wide range of project types, and our team has designed installations across all of them: residential, fleet, and commercial stations ranging from Level 1 and Level 2 chargers to Level 3 DC fast charging systems. We have supported vehicle manufacturer-mandated programs across multiple states, NEVI-funded installations at major retail centers, municipal charging initiatives in downtown business districts, and innovative designs for challenging site conditions including floodplain areas that require creative structural solutions. Every project receives end-to-end support, from survey and feasibility through electrical design, conduit sizing, panel schedules, one-line diagrams, construction drawings, and coordination between manufacturers, property owners, jurisdictional authorities, and utility providers.
Scaling programs without losing control
Many of the clients we work with are not building a single station. They are managing multi-site rollout programs that span states and jurisdictions, each with its own permitting requirements, utility providers, and site conditions. Our project and program management team is built for that complexity. We oversee concurrent deployments while managing the individual needs of each location, keeping timelines aligned and ensuring that every site meets the same standard of engineering quality. That program-level discipline, paired with in-house feasibility, design, permitting, environmental, and construction services, is what allows us to help clients scale their EV infrastructure without sacrificing speed or quality.
