Engineered for the Road Ahead
Old Dominion Freight Line needed a new warehouse and distribution center in the Township of Bethlehem, and the 8.7-acre site along Brodhead Road came with no shortage of complexity. Our team provided comprehensive engineering services for the development, which includes a 39,000 SF warehouse, a 76-door cross dock, and a 5,000 SF office at the south end. The site also accommodates tractor, van, and pup parking, employee car parking, stormwater detention, fencing, gates, and sidewalks.
Getting the layout right meant accounting for a long list of variables before anything could be built. Our professionals created a concept plan that considered zoning regulations, topography, existing utilities, environmental features, traffic circulation, and stormwater management.
From Concept Through Permitting
On the technical side, we performed stormwater infiltration testing to assist in the design of the stormwater management system and conducted a traffic study that included trip generation and capacity analysis. Our team also completed a topographic survey, provided recommendations for concrete and asphalt paving cross sections, and prepared a full site plan.
From concept through permitting, our firm handled the engineering that turned a challenging site into a fully operational facility built to keep Old Dominion’s network moving.
