JFK Airport Roadway Rehabilitation Projects

Provided traffic engineering services associated with the roadway rehabilitation of both Cargo Service Road, 148th Street, and 147th Street (totaling approximately one mile of roadway) and Van Wyck North and South Service Roads (totaling approximately two miles of roadway) at John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport. In addition to the roadway rehabilitation, safety improvements were made throughout these corridors as well.

Tasks included traffic modeling; pedestrian studies; traffic signal modifications; ITS improvements including CCTV installation; structural design; signing and pavement marking plans including “sharrows” in areas outlined in the Facility’s Bicycle Master Plan; maintenance of traffic plans; detour plans; and guide rail design. All plans were prepared in accordance with Port Authority of New York & New Jersey (PANYNJ) standards for Stage III Submission. Colliers Engineering & Design was also retained to provide Stage IV Construction Services.
