The realignment of two state roads to support airport improvements at the Wallace-Pender County Airport in Wallace, Pender County, North Carolina is currently underway. The project includes approximately 0.75 miles of relocated SR 1307 (Wallace Airport Road), 1.14 miles of relocated SR 1306 (Old Mill Road), and 0.13 miles of relocated Henderson Field Road.

Our firm is providing construction administration, quality assurance testing, and inspection services for this important infrastructure initiative. Our scope of work includes field observation and quality assurance activities related to erosion control, clearing and grubbing, earthwork, drainage pipe installation, grading, aggregate base course, bituminous surface course, pavement marking, and signage. All materials will meet NCDOT requirements for Secondary Road Acceptance.

Our inspection team will conduct sampling, testing, and monitoring in accordance with applicable NCDOT certifications. During construction, we will also attend meetings, maintain a daily observation diary, track materials received, and document quality assurance testing results. Additionally, we will provide the NCDOT PE Certification for Subdivisions and Streets to support the official abandonment and relocation of Wallace Airport Road and Old Mill Road into the state-maintained roadway system.
