Since 2021, our GIS professionals have provided comprehensive Geographic Information Systems (GIS) services to Peconic Land Trust in Southampton, New York. The cornerstone of this collaboration has been the development and ongoing maintenance of an interactive map for Peconic’s website, which has significantly enhanced the organization’s ability to visualize and share vital land conservation data.

This dynamic mapping tool has been continually updated with current census data, ensuring that Peconic Land Trust has access to the most relevant demographic information for Nassau and Suffolk Counties. The project’s scope extends into 2024, with ongoing on-call support to maintain and expand GIS services.

The partnership has evolved to include the creation of engaging StoryMaps and informative Dashboards, further augmenting Peconic’s capacity to communicate its mission and achievements. Our GIS team remains responsive to additional requests from Peconic Land Trust, adapting their expertise to meet emerging needs and challenges in land conservation efforts.

As the project progresses, work continues to refine and expand the interactive web map, incorporating new datasets and enhancing functionality. This ongoing collaboration exemplifies the power of GIS technology in supporting environmental conservation, providing Peconic Land Trust with cutting-edge tools to inform decision-making and engage stakeholders in their crucial work preserving Long Island’s natural landscapes.
