Jawonio Campus Redevelopment
New City, Rockland County, NYColliers Engineering & Design was retained to provide survey, site design, traffic engineering, and geotechnical services for the Jawonio Campus Redevelopment. For nearly 70 years, Jawonio has served the region’s special needs residents, but as its programs and services have grown, so has its needs for new facilities. This $14 million redevelopment includes a 70,000 SF office/community center, three log cabins for summer camp programs, and site improvements such as parking and stormwater management facilities.
Our services included stakeout surveys, a geotechnical investigation, a traffic study to determine existing and anticipated traffic volume, zoning analysis, Preliminary and Final Site Plan designs, preparation of a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan, preparation and submission of necessary permit applications, and project management. We also coordinated closely with the client to design the construction sequence in a manner that allows Jawonio to continue operations in the existing main building until the new main building is ready for occupancy, so as not to disrupt the activity and function of the important work Jawonio does.
