The Trumbull Avenue bridge replacement over I-94 in Detroit was advanced as an early phase of the I-94 Modernization project to address the severely deteriorated condition of the existing structure and accommodate the planned future widening of I-94 below. The new bridge is a two-span steel plate girder structure supported by tall wall abutments and an architecturally treated median pier that complements the urban setting.

Our team prepared design plans for the new structure, addressing both immediate safety needs and future project requirements. This effort required close coordination with DWSD and PLD/PLA/DTE to manage utility relocations and maintain essential services.
