This 92,000 sq. ft. office expansion was completed to support Great Lakes Comnet’s growth while serving as a co-location facility for external clients. Our firm developed the program and schematic design layout, transforming the space into a state-of-the-art data center with secure 24/7 access and essential support areas.

Flexibility was key in designing the server rooms, which feature a raised floor system with a hot aisle/cold aisle configuration to optimize cooling. Each room houses 30 to 50 racks, supported by segregated server spaces and dedicated mechanical/CRAC corridors. Critical infrastructure, including battery/UPS and electrical switchgear rooms, ensures continuous operations.

The facility also includes a Network Operations Center (NOC), office and conference rooms, storage areas, and modular spaces that can scale with future needs. Advanced building access and lighting controls optimize space usage while supporting future growth.
