East Main Street Reconstruction Project
Rochester, NYEast Main Street Reconstruction Project
Rochester, NYThis infrastructure initiative in the City of Rochester transformed a stretch of East Main Street between North Goodman Street and Culver Road, with improvements designed to enhance safety, mobility, and overall streetscape aesthetics. This two-year project involved the full-depth reconstruction of approximately one mile of roadway and included a new granite curb, ADA-compliant sidewalks, curb ramps, and a dedicated asphalt cycle track on both sides of the street. Utility upgrades featured over 3,000 linear feet of 12-inch water main replacement and new service connections. Streetscape enhancements included more than 50 new light and signal poles, over 100 trees, and public amenities such as benches, bike racks, and planters. A new entry corridor with a monument sign was also created to enhance the area’s visual identity.
Our team provided full-time construction inspection services throughout the duration of the project. We monitored the progress and quality of all roadway and infrastructure improvements, including concrete, asphalt, and utility work. Our responsibilities also extended to verifying ADA compliance, overseeing the installation of streetscape elements, and tracking contractor operations.
In addition to on-site inspection, our team facilitated coordination with utility providers, including Rochester Gas & Electric and Frontier Communications. While those entities conducted their own inspections, we led scheduling and coordination meetings to maintain progress and ensure alignment with project timelines and specifications.
