Various Locations, PAProvided survey services to Williams Gas Pipeline as part of the company’s large Atlantic Sunrise pipeline expansion project. Williams operates a natural gas transmission pipeline known as the Transco pipeline, which transports natural gas from production areas to customers located throughout the eastern United States. The Atlantic Sunrise Expansion Project will connect producing regions in northeastern Pennsylvania to markets in the Mid-Atlantic and southeastern states.
Colliers Engineering & Design used a combination of Mobile LiDAR Mapping and conventional field survey topographic surveying to locate and map approximately 60 miles of access roads along and around the proposed pipeline. We also performed preliminary surveys, construction stakeout, and as-built surveys for the entire length of the 200-mile expansion area. The project design included approximately 183 miles of new greenfield pipe (Central Penn North & Central Penn South); two pipeline loops totaling approximately 12 miles (Chapman Loop, Unity Loop); two and half miles of existing pipeline replacement; two new compressor facilities in Pennsylvania; and other facility additions or modifications in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina.
