Yavapai-Apache Broadband Initiative

Camp Verde, AZ

The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the critical need for reliable broadband on Tribal lands. To address this issue, the Yavapai-Apache Nation (YAN) secured an NTIA Tribal Broadband Connectivity Grant. YAN commissioned our firm to conduct a feasibility study for constructing, operating, and maintaining a fiber optic network across six Tribal communities.

Working closely with Tribal leaders, our team designed a fiber optic network to serve over 400 homes, featuring multiple distribution points for future scalability. This infrastructure not only addresses immediate connectivity needs but also positions YAN as a potential regional internet service provider.

By investing in this robust digital infrastructure, YAN is paving the way for enhanced educational opportunities and economic development. This visionary project stands to empower current and future generations of the Yavapai-Apache Nation, fostering long-term growth and prosperity within their communities.
