The Berlin Dam is a 96-foot dam that was originally completed in 1943 to provide flood control to the Berlin Lake and to provide a reliable water supply for the Youngstown Steel Mills. Our team was selected to provide in-depth structural inspections at four tainter gates to evaluate the structural integrity, provide recommendation for repairs, and provide design services to rehabilitate the tainter gates.

The project also included crane repairs and a new crane storage building design. The structural repairs to this dam have allowed this area to thrive as an established recreation area with boating, fishing, cottages, and camping.
